Weltmeister?

I’m curious to find out if anyone knows whether Weltmeister whistles are still in production and where they can be found? The links on Dale’s site to the Box Office (where they were sold at one time) have long been dead and I’ve never seen them on any of the online sites.

Anyone know?

Melody Music used to have them, but do not carry them any longer, and don’t list them in their online catalog.

I have one that I’m reviewing soon..if you’re looking for one, we could work something out

The maker’s homepage doesn’t say that they are not produced any longer. You might want to check it: www.adler-heinrich.de

Good question, I got mine at a local music store here in Ottawa. They had a few left if you ever get desparate to get you hands on one. I had a reasonnable deal before XMas on it, $35CDN + tax.

It’s an interesting whistle I must say. The review available on C&F is quite accurate. Lots and lots of back pressure. Here a sound sample:

This site shows an Adler whistle in the Recorder section. Is this the same as the Weltmeister?

(Thanks, of course, to all who’ve answered so far.)

As far as I know, yes Adler Heinrich is the same thing.

They’re the same thing..I have the purple one

I have never seen the whistle but I heard a young canadian playing a recorder at the Ren Fair that was really nice. It had a great sound and was very responsive. I thought it was a whistle when I heard it and went to find out what kind it was. Was I surprised.

Thanks, all. The Adler is available here and there on internet stores (at varying prices). I’m not rushing out to buy one – at the very least I’ll wait for Wanderer’s review – but it’s nice to know it’s available.

How was the recorder?

The review isn’t going to happen because of some cracks I found in the head.

If you wanted to try the whistle out, though, I’d be happy to send it to you for $5.00. That should just about cover the cost of shipping. With the teflon tape, it’s playable, though I can’t really say how much longevity it will have..cracks have a way of growing over time. If you liked it, you could always see about having it repaired, and count yourself the beneficiary of a really good deal
