Bríd O Donohue just appeared at the gate to drop in a copy of the new recording she made with piper Séamus Ó Rócháin, with a song contributed by Meaití Jó Shéamuis Ó Fátharta. Pipes and whistle, all in B, great stuff.
Official launch later today @ Willie week (where the new Browne/O’Loughlin is among the pile of stuff launched as well)
I remember meeting Séamus in Belgium a few years ago. One of my favourite pipers and a gentleman. His first CD was great, this one should be of the same calibre.
Meaiti Jo Shéamais is a grand singer and he’s a piper as well.
I’m sure the album is great and all ,but what genius is responsible for the album cover. Can you get any more cliched than a kettle on a stove.Could they not spice it up a bit with say Brid all dressed in leather standing over a gagged and bound Seamus or maybe, well a million other covers that would be better.
I disagree, but not about Brid dressed in leather(which I think would still make a good cover) but trad album covers in general. One of my favorite covers is this one, I just think its full of character ,
For pure arts sake, any of the Chieftains albums designed by Eddie Delaney are excellent.
