Peter Horan and Gerry Harrington’s duet CD is out!

It has my vote for best looking CD cover for a diddly music album:
Bring on the 60s’ chic and psychedelia..
Thanks to Thomas Johnson (Steampacket) who announced it on the woodenflutelist.
I just heard a track of the CD from the latest Late Session, very yummy music! Thought it was one of those archive recordings when I first heard it actually, just full of that certain quality one rarely find in commercially recorded music nowadays.

(about 7 minutes into the show)
I’ve had that web page open in a tab on my browser ever since I learned about the release on Monday – just so I can look at the cover whenever I want to.
It’s a great name, too!
I’ve had my copy on order from Celtic Grooves for a couple of months now. Philippe tells me he should have copies in next week.
It ought to be good, Peter Horan and Gerry Harrington are mighty players.

Love 'em or hate 'em, the Chieftains have one of my favorite CD covers:
I think that may win an award for “lowest budget ITM album cover”
Dig the pants. Oh, the pants!
(was that before or after he got his driver’s license?)
I guess it depends on when during his 16th year he got his license.
From http://www.irish-banjo.com/performers/american-banjo-players/egan-seamus-1.html:
At the tender age of 16 he released his first record with the unimaginative title > Traditional Music of Ireland > .
Believe it or not, I actually own that CD.
However, the jewel case and aforementioned booklet disappeared (probably mercifully in Seamus’s mind ) long ago.
Oooh. Now that I think about it, I haven’t seen the CD for a while, either.

I bought mine at Barnes and Noble a year ago. It’s not hard to find.
I just wish the synthy tracks would mysteriously disappear.
AMEN!
I do remember that about it now … yikes.

A title both unimaginative and largely inaccurate… I do dig the frosted/stonewash jeans and Bill Cosby sweater.
At first glance he looks like “Facts of Life” era George Clooney…
Or maybe it was Nancy McKeon.
But back on topic… I thought this was very clever but also a little spooky.
Cheers,
Aaron
