Watch out for the Irish Folk Festival in Europe

Hi, this is Brigitte here. I thougt I’d better remind you about these upcoming events for the next few weeks in Europe ( :slight_smile:)
It starts in Cologne, Germany this coming Friday and if you are able to read and understand German have a look into this website http://www.im-koelner-norden.de/termine.asp?nr=196®ion=2. You will find a small but fine review about the Irish Folk Festival in general and it tells more about the excellent line up with Na Dórsa, Lorraine Hickey & Kevin Rowsome, Flook, Dezi Donnelly & Eamon Mc Elholm. .

This tour is mainly in Germany but also a few gigs in Switzerland but even if you need to travel for a couple of hours (or a little more…) I am sure it is well worth it.

I attended the Irish Folk Festival somewhere near Wiesbaden in 1976 when I was stationed there in the Air Force. I saw Clannad, The Fureys, DeDanaan, and several others I can’t remember. I bought a 3-record album of the 1974 or 1975 Festival, which I still have. It was one of my earlier introductions to Germany when I arrived and met some nice people who took me out to see everything. Luckily for me, they were Irish music fanatics. Enjoy the festival. And remind Colin he said he would let me know when he is coming to California to visit his brother who lives very close to me.
