KILA is coming to the US

Hi, last weekend we have been at the Folkwoods festival in the Netherlands and had two wonderful days full of music. The line up was incredible, top acts like Lunasa, Kila, Peatbog Fearies, Kadrill (belgium band), Gjallarhorn etc etc from early morning till late in the nights. The atmosphere of the whole festival was nice and relaxed and good food and of course drinks. The “Heilige Petrus” has provided optimal wheather, sunny and not too hot. Having lots of folk music in our CD collection we never managed to get hold of a CD of KILA although always were looking for one after hearing them first time in 1999 being played in a music shop. This weekend we did :smile:as you can see in our Folk CD List in the web and after seeing their show we said to ourselves, that we have missed out on a BIG part of folk world. They are going since 87!, are not pure traditionalists but make a wonderful mix of Irish traditional music and other influences (tango, greek etc. etc.). They are all multi-instrumentalists, their singer is extraordinary and they do also sing accapella and this is something else as well. Vocals are in gaelic. I just saw in their website that they are going to the US in September and have some gigs, please check it out http://www.kila.ie and if you have the chance to see them play I am sure you will not regret it. Try the sound samples and see if you like it, Lemonade and Buns is their latest album and I am actually just listening to it  Enjoy Brigitte

P.S. Eric next year
