I have brand new set of mouthblown Walsh smallpipe combo (A and D chanters)+ one extra D-reed +soft case. Anybody wants to make trade with these to bellows blown A-borderpipes?
I don’t think you can get Border Pipes for Smallpipes as Border Pipes cost way more than Walsh Smallpipes I don’t think people with trade with out some money along with the Pipes.
Just my 2 cents I am only trying to help.
Ditto - the supply of (good) Border pipes is pretty poor, so prices for them are significantly higher than they really deserve to be. Hopefully that’ll be changing with Fred Morrison’s reelpipes coming on the market (and they are fantastic Border pipes).
To be honest I can’t see anyone wanting to change from Border to small, I have to say.
Cheers,
Calum
Calum,
So you’ve seen (and played ?) Fred’s new pipes? Can you give us any more info about them? I’m dying of curiosity…
Does Fred have a website for (Fred Morrison’s reelpipes)
just put kinda offer on ,( i’ll put +cash too)
They’re being made by MacCallum, aren’t they?
I’ve heard McCallum’s making them too.
Cheers,
Aaron
Fred doesn’t seem to be particularly shy … ![]()

If they are made by McCallum they will difinatley be good I could email Kenny Macleod from McCallum (co-founder of the company) I think I will do that I own a set of AB4s and they are great pipes.
There’s an article about Fred’s Reelpipes in the latest “Piping Today,” the publication put out by the National Piping Centre. Has anybody seen or read it?
Cheers,
Aaron
Hi Seth,
Yes, you’re quite right. We launched the Reelpipes during the Celtic Connections Festival, Glasgow, in January of this year. Since then, they’ve become very popular and are now being played by some of the leading Border pipe players in Scotland, including Rory Campbell (Old Blind Dogs - Winner of this year’s Best Folk Group Award) and Stuart Cassells - Young Traditional Musician of the Year.
I think you would be very pleased with a set of these pipes, both in terms of sound and appearance. Feedback from those playing the pipes so far has been extremely positive and encouraging.
We have worked hard to keep our price competitive. The price includes drone switch (which to me is essential), luxury bellows and a strong aluminium flight case.
Myself and Stuart McCallum (of McCallum Bagpipes) have done our best in terms of bag, bellows, reeds and pressure to make the transition from GHB as easy as possible.
Hope this answers some questions! I’ve attached some photos so that you can see what they look like. Please let me know what you think. If you wish, I’d be very happy to give you any other information you need over the phone.
All the best for now, and thanks for your interest.
Fred

Seth, do you have another way of posting the above links? I do not access Yahoo any longer.
let me see what I can do, I havent figured out how to post pics straight to the forum yet…
Use this link:
or this one:
Select the browse button and it will bring up your photos and you get o chose from there. Be forewarned, if you haven’t edited the size of your original photos, you may want to do so as they will be huge when you post them. 500 pixels is a good size without distorting the forum page.
Also,
The mighty Gary Kelly posted these instructions on how to post photos from other websites. Read this, it tells/shows you everything you need to know about doing it.

Good Luck!
Guess it was pointless to email Kenny but it is good to hear it straight from the company. He has not replied it is likely to be a few days (it always is) I will be sure to post what he says though.
