So is it a decent whistle or not?

For what you paid - how could you go wrong!

Ha!

That’s kinda what I figured…

Pray for me - I was just wondering where I could get one for that price.

LOL The guy had eight. 5 sold. You might email him and ask if you could get one for the same price? 99 Cents.

I think there is some variation in the Walton whistles, but hopefully it’ll be a good one. My first whistle was one of their brass ones, and it sounded great, and played much easier than most whistles.

I didn’t know there was such a thing as a Walton’s nickle whistle!

Let us know how it sounds.

Hi Kim,

I’ve had one of these for a while. I found the original set up more temperamental than similar Feadogs & Generations at the time, and have since put a Feadog Mk3 head on it, with pleasant results. It’s still in my collection of whistles like I play. It’s quite likely that with better breath control, the untweaked whistle would have been fine.

I like the quality of the body, slightly better than Feadogs & Generations, better in tune with itself I think, but not as heavy gauge as an Oak. The head now rests in my whistle graveyard, maybe one day to be resurrected as a Frankenwhistle.

The width of the Walton body is fractionally larger than a Gen, so a Gen head doesn’t fit, and the Walton head is loose on the Gen body. The Feadog head is slightly stretchy plastic, and just squeezed on.

My overall opinion, it’s as good a choice as a Nickel Generation, better than a Nickel Feadog but not as nice as an Oak.

Dale should sponsor meetings: “Hello, my name is Kim and I am a whistle-holic.”

Thank you for your response! A friend was harrassing me on another chat board about getting “another Feadog” (I love Feadogs). So now I can say “Not necessarily!”

For shame, Kim…

…You could have grabbed those unsold ones for a buck each and not had to pay more shipping!!

I know! I didn’t even think! I feel terrible about it, but I’m going to be watching for this guy to do more auctions!
