What do you make of this Feadóg on Ebay? Is it a Mach 2? Hard to tell from the photo. In general appearance, it doesn’t look like any Feadóg I’ve ever seen, but might be older and “before my time.”

Difficult to say with the fipple in shadow, but I detect a slight curve & bump, so it can’t be a Mark III. Might actually be a Mark I, which would be worth snapping up. The designs on the body are unfamiliar, my Mark II just had the usual oval label between the fipple and the first hole.
What I don’t get is, why would anybody bother to go to all this trouble to sell anything for less than 2 dollars? Seems to me like using a steamroller to crack a walnut.
I don’t know what to make of the whistle, but hey, it’s “guaranteed Irish”!

Based on the green lettering of the Feadog name and the green stripes close to the bottom end of the whistle, I believe this is an older Feadog. I think they are referred to as “Mark I” Feadog whistles. I have one just like it in my collection which I bought 10 or more years ago.

I sent an email to the seller, asking to describe the mouthpiece to me…asking if it’s flat across the top or has a peak behind the hole.
$3.95 seems a bit steep for S&H, still, if it’s a Mach 1, I might try for it.

It’s a McCullogh Piggott. You can tell by the stickers top and bottom. Highly recommended! I have two or three and they’re hands down the best (proto-) Feadogs you can get. But they are almost impossible to get nowadays.
Those more erudite than I must speak to relation of the McCullough Piggott to the Feadog Mk I.

Nope, he says he’s shipping priority mail. Last price hike brought priority mail to $3.85.
I don’t keep up with Feadog models but I’ve head one for years and years. It says McCullough-Piggott on the side and looks just like that one on ebay except the ebay whistle is in cleaner condition.

Hi Kim, can’t really see the mouthpiece,but it looks just like the two greentop Feadogs that i have,bought around 1992/93.The stickers on mine are the same.From previous postings on this subject,i take these to be MARK 1’s -a MACH 2,or even a MACH1 would be no good for me, as i’m afraid that i can’t play that fast!
Well, another C&Fer has bid on it and it would be dreadful bad manners on my part for me to bid on it now, in my opinion.
Peeplj is also in a neighboring state, so the potential that I might someday get to see this whistle and potential owner in person is pretty high.

Since McCullough Piggot is a music store on Grafton St in Dublin, I’m guessing they commissioned Feadog to make a batch with their logo on it, like the Guinness whistles, which obviously aren’t made by Guinness.

I did get an email from the fellow concerning the mouthpiece…this is what it said:
You must have seen this. It has a hump/peak. There is the part you blow in, then the hole, the peak and then the brass piece.
