Volunteers needed!

It’s time to update the whistle guides on the main website. If you have a moment, please have a look and make any notes you can on things that need updating, including:

whistles not listed
prices
keys available but not listed
etc.

I’d appreciate the help.

I don’t seem to be able to connect to the main C&F site at the moment. It just times out. Strange.

Wow. Thanks. That’s a wonderful list.

Dale

It looks like the Clarke original is available in more than just black w/gold diamonds and plain black; there also in a natural tin color available. I found one here:

http://www.thewhistleshop.com/catalog/whistles/inexpensive/Clarke/naturalclarke/clarke.htm

The Whistle Shop tends to label anything that is a product exclusive to their store, and this one isn’t labelled as such, so it must be available elsewhere. I can’t find anything about it on Clarke’s sight, but I also couldn’t find anything about the plain black model.

In addition to silver and black, I saw red and gold coloured Meg D whistles the other day..

http://granitefallsmfg.com/index.html That is another one missing.

The Megs come in all the same colors as the Sweetones now. I was at Lehman’s (non electric…mostly for the Amish. They have some really cool stuff though), and they were selling them there. I thought they were Sweetones until my dear husband pointed out that they looked a bit different.

Mack Hoover seems to be on the expensive page only and the whitecaps are unmentioned. But for $30 (whitecap + Feadog tube) I got a very nice-sounding whistle, so I think he should be listed on the inexpensive page as well.

I’ve seen the “natural” Clarke originals for years at Lark in the Morning, in C and D. I thought they were common.

I’m sure they’ve been around for awhile, though I couldn’t find one at Lark in the Morning, but I’m pretty new to conical whistles. I’ve played an Oak for forever. I thought it would be nice to note in the inexpensive whistle list because people like me hate the gold diamonds on the “original” Clarke original, and hate the logo on the plain black one.

Just found another relatively unknown maker http://www.macneilwoodwinds.ca/ just whistles.

Ther there is this one which I forgot about but do own a Low Whistle myself http://www.merlin-music.com Low Whistles, Flutes, Harmonicas, and Custom Electric Fiddles.

The unpainted Clarke whistle has been on the market for years. They sell them in a local music store, here in Northeast Oklahoma. These are widely noted for getting a well-worn look, very fast, which some players like.

The gold Meg is being promoted on thewhistleshop.com , but far as I can tell it’s only available as part of a kit.

Whistles? You mean this is a website for whistles?

Yep. But your political posts fit right in, since we’re all whistleblowers.

hot air rules

At the risk of straying on-topic, I think Jerry Freeman should be on the low-priced whistle list.

Eidan whistles

I have never seen that one before. They looks like they also make Scottish Smallpipes.
