It’s a great clip. Looks like an early version of the Late Late Show.
I didn’t know that SE used a shoulder strap. Anyone know when it was recorded?

Hey Jason,

I was about to post this after arriving from work, but didn’t get the chance..brilliant on the part of Seamus. Thanks for posting it!

Daryl

That is an excellent clip; really good quality. I would love to have a copy of that. Does anyone here know how to download copies from YouTube?

Thx,

djm

That IS a terrific clip–the best I’ve seen on you tube yet. Anyone know what he’s playing?

Might be his C# Coyne set…

Daryl Mac.

Don’t know about the pipes or the tune, but speaking as an expert I can say without uncertainty that that’s an M Egan floor buffer.

YouTube Downloader

Works for me.

I went looking for a .flv player, and downloaded something called "wimpy .flv player. It’s working, but my firewall caught it hijacking Internet Explorer.

:astonished: Holy trojan, Batman!

Here’s some better stuff you might want to try:

An Raibh Tu ag an gCarraig?

That was inspiring. It inspired me to sqeeze in some extra practice. No pun intended.

(I’ll never be that good, but I can aspire no?)

Thankyou very much for sharing that clip. Seamus Ennis, Willie Clancy and Leo Rowsome are the main ‘old pipers’ that I like to study. Apparently I’ve been told by a few people that I sound a lot like Seamus Ennis particularly when it comes to airs but sound more like Willie Clancy with the jigs and reels.

Yes, PodTube downloads the video to your hard drive and converts it into a file puts it onto iTunes and you can just load it over onto your iPod video. You have to have a Mac to use PodTube

Another option.

And look who was listed right after Ennis.

Lovely set of pipes. Good playing Padre.

For the newbie players, the Ennis video is a good opportunity to see what the ‘top hand’ of a master is doing.

is another good clip.

“don’t you dare lock this thread, ya bollox ye”

Seamus Ennis, great clip

Is he tuning a drone at 1’32"?

Cheers

Or silencing it…

Nice link, Jason. It’s much more interesting to watch the pipes while being played. Nice to see those flexible long fingers and wrist in action, and to know not even the master keeps a perfectly steady rhythm on the bellows.

As much as Ennis is pumping, I suspect he had his leaky bag that he refused to seal.
