I saw him playing regs once. He was demonstrating the pipes backstage at glastonbury i think, on a tv programme, and he gave them a quick blast at the end of the song. Can’t find the recording though, for the life of me.

I was at Paddy’s home a few times and each time I heard him play… it was as if someone dropped a needle on a record from the 50s.

Well, this was in 1990 or 1991 I seem to recall, and he has released one since then. He did so in '97.
I didn’t manage to catch what Paddy was saying in the video. Can anyone tell me the name of the slow air Paddy plays before “the Blackbird” in this clip?

Yeah, in '97 he did “Na Keen Affair”, with some friends, a few of them very well known. Haven’t given it a listen myself yet, but I know it’s out there somewhere.
