If anyone is having any luck using video capture software (aside from SnapzPro for Mac) do let me know. After downloading 10 diff. pieces of software (PC), I am beginning to believe that they have a copyright protector encoded therein.

Try one of the items on this list of Screen capture software. Tried one of these once, forget if I had much luck. You draw a box around what you want to capture and it does it on the fly. Don’t think RTE can do anything about it since it’s not mucking about with their servers.
cam studio and easy whatever do not work. the rte site is a breeze for Mac and PC. tg4 seems to be only made for PC no matter what they say. i’ll try more on that list monday
Have you tried the Open Source Video Lan Client?
I haven’t tried it with TG4, but I believe it has been released for all OSs. I solves most of my multimedia problems in Linux, Fedore Core 6.
that appears to be a player. i’m looking for a capturing/recording program that can handle the kibosh TG4 doles out
It also has the ability to record on hard disk what it streams.

I was able to capture some TG4 streams this AM, send me the URL for one of the streams you were trying to grab with SDP in a PM.

I can capture TG4 using WM Recorder, but I find I can no longer even view the vids from RTÉ1 for The Full Set, let alone record them. I’m seeing that “not found” error message. Anyone else having this problem? It ticks me off with TFS as I was just watching these again the other day.

I have been watching other shows off of rte and have gotten messages to the tune of “copyright protection…” blablabla
After 1 successful download from tg4, I know cannot recieve the full URL address and always get an access denied. Is there any way around this to get the full URL?
I have not found it to be consistent. I do not have that problem with WM Recorder. You start it up first, start the show up, and WMR finds the stream on its own and starts copying. One thing strange I did notice was that it actually captures more of the show than what shows up in Real Player, i.e. the recording shows more stuff at the beginning (ads, banners, etc. whether you wanted them or not) than actually showed when I was watching from the Player.

I’ve tried using snapz pro on my Mac and it would capture for a while and then loose the stream. There has to be a way, ala utoob
there IS a way. if you’re using Mac (Thanx J.!) . Mac users: forget safari, it’s not designed for it. DL Firefox! PM me for the rest.
Just an FYI,
The latest free version of RealPlayer (11.0.1) has a video recording feature that works with TG4. It is easy to use- simply put your cursor on the video image and click on “download”. The video is saved as a .ivr file (internet video recording). A 33 minute long file was 55mb.
