Updated Whistle Photos

My sister got a really nice digital camera for Christmas, and she was nice enough to let me borrow it to make some decent quality photos of my whistles.
My photography skills haven’t improved much, but the new photos are much better than the horribly fuzzy ones I made earlier with my junky old digital camera.

Oooh! Preety! I love the red background.

The heads and fipples look a little bit like the Syn. I’m sure they’re great whistles.

I can tell y’all, I recently bought a retro-fit head, and the white is beautiful on my Oak’s body. It plays like a dream and sounds VERY Sindtlike! I plan to buy a Feadog soon so I can try it with that tube. Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased!

Do they sound as good as your old Copperheads, Gary?

They sound different due to the alternative choice of materials and design, but I think the sound quality is very nice.
The sharp, sloping blade produces a more ‘traditional’ sound than the blunt, flat blade design I used for the Copperheads… they sounded a bit more mellow and flute-like.
There are a few tunes on Clips & Snips that were played on various tubes retrofitted with my new heads… here are the links:

The](http://www.tinwhistletunes.com/clipssnip/Audio/12-03/bretton_durrow.mp3%22%3EThe) Durrow Reel - played by Brett Pfingston on a retrofitted Oak D tube.
The](http://www.tinwhistletunes.com/clipssnip/Audio/10-03/DearIrishBoyTonyH.mp3%22%3EThe) Dear Irish Boy - played by Tony Higgins on a retrofitted Nickel Generation Bb tube.
Green](http://www.tinwhistletunes.com/clipssnip/Audio/9-03/GreeneyedLassTonyH.mp3%22%3EGreen) Eyed Lass - played by Tony Higgins on a retrofitted Nickel Generation Bb tube.
King](http://www.tinwhistletunes.com/clipssnip/Audio/8-03/KingOfTheFairies-GaryHumphrey.mp3%22%3EKing) of the Fairies - played by myself on a retrofitted Nickel Generation Bb tube.

Are the full whistles (head and tube) ready yet? If so, how much $$ ?

I feel like a ditto head, but… nice work Gary!

Erik

Ditto. I’m glad you stuck with it and came up with non-smelly materials!
