This is a set of Humphreys I ordered on June 26th. They came yesterday! That’s only two weeks!
Anyway, from bottom to top, they are:
Low A
Bb Tube (interchangeable with the low A mouthpiece)
C
D
Eb
E Tube (interchangeable with the Eb mouthpiece)
High F.
You might notice that the D is slightly different. (Sorry the picture’s kinda small.)
It’s his older model which I’ve had for a couple of years now. Actually I had the Bb as well and sent it to him when I ordered the set so he could make the A tube to fit the Bb mouthpiece, which he did.
There was also a dent on the fourth hole of the Bb tube, (I didn’t do it) which he fixed without my even asking him to.
They sound great! My biggest problem is in choosing which one to play. What a problem!
Yep! I saved my pennies and now I’m havin fun!
What I really like about them is the consitency between whistles. They all sound relatively the same (though in different keys) if that makes sense. Even the Hi F.
Now, now; I didn’t say that. I do own a couple of Generations, but I’ve never owned or held a Bb. So I couldn’t compare it’s weight to the Bb Humphrey.
I’d say my Bb whistles are probably very slightly heavier than Generations, but only by a fraction of an ounce.
I don’t have one here at the moment, or I’d be happy to check it with my postage scale.
My fipple plugs are solid, and acetal is a little heavier than ABS plastic (or whatever Generation mouthpieces are made of), which would have to add a little weight over that of a Generation Bb.
You had to go and post those pictures, eh? There I was, happy with me new Humphrey D+ and C set, and you have to go post those pictures. Thanks a bunch.
