Stay away from these and read the sticky about Pakistani UPs!

Stay away from these and read the sticky about Pakistani UPs!

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid - they are only good for lighting fires

Read the ‘facs’ thread concerning Budget sets http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewtopic.php?t=34434

Go to the NPU website and email the various makers to find best price, waiting time http://www.pipers.ie/makerlist.asp

Watch ebay for sets by makers on the NPU list and beware sets supposedly made in Irelend with no makers name. Several Pakistani sets are advertised on Ebay as Irish made

Bag and bello are 100% airtight, are genuine leather, don´t look too bad und can easily be “asthetically upgraded” (Gelsenkirchener Barock). Chanter and reed are expectantly crap (nach dem Anzünden auf den Boden legen und sich rasch entfernen), but a used playable chanter can easily come buy. I don´t have any long term experience, but this gear gives quite good an impression. It seems to be quite good value so far. On the other hand - you can imagine a woman from Pakistan working for pennies. AND - needless to say - attend a tionól and have it checked BEFORE starting to practise!
