Uilleann pipes in Josh Groban album

Sent to me was this attachment which directed me to Yahoo and they have a video on Josh Groban’s song “You Build Me Up” with a uilleann piper. It is difficult to hear the pipes with all the other instruments in the band and also difficult to see the piper in the dark video.

if someone can explain to me how it is done I will redo this message.[/url]

Well, the guy in the video is our very own Joey Alberta from the SCUPC, but I believe the music was recorded by Eric Rigler and Joey is just, well, eye candy.

Our UU fellowship choir is doing that song and I’m playing the pipes for it. However, the recording is in Eb ( the Eric Rigler is playing in “G” on a Bb set), but the choir music is in D. It’s much easier to play this song in G because of the octaves it’s in. But I have to play it in D and switch octaves in the middle. It’s kinda fun though. We did the same thing back in October for a hospice memorial service, and now we’re doing it for the fellowship.
