Recording of Michael Hubbert's pipes?

I was on here a while back and I heard someone’s recording of themselves playing some of Michael Hubbert’s pipes. Trouble is, i can’t find it again! Does anyone have some sound or video clips of Michael Hubbert’s pipes?

No, it is not ruined, at all. Good pipers oftem accompany their piping with stomping. This is dance music.

I didn’t see alot of people dancing.most of them seemed to be listening.
Its widely accepted now that solo piping is a listening experience, even if they are playing dance music and foot stomping doesn’t add any thing to the playing except a distraction.

If you were to spend your hard earned beer tokens on a CD of some famous piper and foot stomping was included in the recording would you find in acceptable?

With that way of reasoning ,he could be banging a dustbin lid,but as long as you can see him do it ,it’s OK
I just dont hear foot banging as a musical sound and because of that, it distracts me . I know some people don’t mind it .

While I have nothing generally against foot-tapping and think Joey’s an excellent piper (and God knows I rarely agree with Rory), I think the foot tapping in this recording doesn’t add to the tune. It’s a little too loud. Maybe it’s the hollow stage or the mics.

The group is called Mauvais Sort from Quebec. The foot-tapping technique of the fiddler is a feature of traditional fiddle playing - in fact, he’s fairly restrained.

This is Cajun box music, but it is IMHO very close in spirit to what the piper did. Both are put in my favorites.
The piper plays a lively reel with regs and powerful stomping, absolutely my favorite type of music. I’d like to see more examples when good pipe music is played for dancing.
