Jerry O'Sullivan Trinity Church Video

Kirk Lynch chanter?

Jerry usually plays a Seth Gallagher D chanter with his Johnny Burke set.

Looks like it may be a Benedict Koehler, but I can’t say for certain.

what does it matter
it’s great music

You guys may want to look up last friday’s Come west along the road on RTE for the clip of Paddies Moloney and Keenan with Dermot O Loughlin and Conal O Grada. If you’re into that sort of thing.

FANTASTIC! I couldn’t believe that I had Jerry and the group in my home for an hour and a little over 2 minutes. Can’t wait to be with him again this next weekend at the O’Flahery Irish Music Retreat in Midlothian, TX. Here is their web site:

Don’t know which chanter he was using in the video. Know that he does use a Lynch but also remember him using another with the “twist” type shut off, could have been a Britton. He did disconnect from the chanter to do a little tuning in the video. “Anasazi Piper”

Is this in an archives now? Where would that be, and what is it called?

Thx,

djm

that’s a beautiful performance of Si Bheag, Si Mhor (or however it’s spelled)…thanks for the link!

I really enjoyed that very much. I work a few doors up from the church and am sorry that I missed it. Last winter?? Thanks for posting.

Koehler chanter. But he was playing his Gallagher when he was in town here in May.

Come west along the road, friday 20-10? I don’t know about archives, saw it on the tellie.

Well, maybe not any longer? Anyway, it used to be here:
http://www.tg4.tv

Goto “Ceol - Cartlann” and click on “Siar an Bóthar”.

It’s actually the new series running on RTE 1, not sure that’s running at the same time on TG4.

That would be his Gallagher chanter but the chanter top is by Nick Whitmer. Here’s a photo (taken from uilleannobsession) of Jerry playing that chanter with Pat D’Arcy:

That’s Saint D’Arcy to you, check out his halo. That image is destined to become an Icon, in the world of Uilleann Piping.

What would it take to create a web site like Trinity Church has, only for uilleann pipe videos? Offering plates? Saints? Maybe a reverend or two? I’ve heard there’s already someone within the holy order that could do this.

My first thought would be Michael Eskin.

Ok, Anyone know the name of the first Hornpipe in D? Its about 1/3 the way into the video

And the last one too.

Wow, thanks for this! Great quality video, and great tunes.
