I stumbled on this e-bay listing and I thought I would pass it along.

Cheers

I had a double take when I fist saw the photo… it looked like the set was sitting in a snow bank.

who is Kwisthout?

if its snow you want mr.smith there is plenty up here in ny you can have, might get another 2 feet tonight, about 160 inches ,in the last 2 weeks. :moreevil:

Send it on down, we could use the precipitation.

You could use some of those FEMA ice delivery trucks that are still sitting full (of ice) from the disappointing Atlanic hurricane season of '06.

I was wondering who had taken all our snow. Quebec has received only about 1/4 of its usual amount. I better be careful, though, as there’s a snow storm forecast for tomorrow.

Back on topic - Hubert Kwisthout is a pipemaker based in Wales. I don’t know much about his pipes. I’ve seen a few practice and half sets come up for sale from time to time. Mostly in D but I recall one half set in B being advertised recently. Did he learn from Alan Ginsberg?

Send 'em down… er… wait… cancel all send 'em down requests, looks like severe weather is moving through with possible funnel circulation… they’re calling for tonado watches… here we go again… :boggle:

I recall that mr Kwisthout from Cardiff restored the pieces of a “Ned” White set, (Galway appr. 1845)
discovered in an old Limerick house. now in tune in the arms of Rob van Dijk
who is one of the first Dutch uilleann pipers (1977)

According to Mark Walstrom:

White, Edward W. (Ned) Athenry, Loughrea, Roxbury, Boston 1840-1880

for you english speaking guys and galls

shortly after 1845 Mr.White went to Boston to become a famous player, teacher and pipemaker

Loughrea is in Galway…

You are both right, now stfu!
