Now there’s a maker who’s sets I’ve never heard. Any one?

The seller needs to put some close up shots on this sale!

Pat.

Seeing as Pat Sky has recently retired to Kilkenny (where, you remember, he’s, producing vastly-overpriced practise sets for resale on E-Bay) perhaps he could nip over and check this guy’s stuff out for us.

Just a guess… but perhaps it is a typo and the maker is the highly regarded Martin Carrigan.

It is of course… his pipes sound great and his reeds are second to none but the new owner may be surprised by the external finish.

Pat.

i am assuming you meant to say “underpriced” rather than “overpriced”?..

otherwise that is a huge insult to someone who has been second to none in keeping the piping and pipemaking traditions going over the decades.

Bensdad is referring to the e-bay seller who is asking $2,500.00 for one of Pat Skys practice sets. The seller also states that Pat has moved to Killkenny. No one is critisizing Pat here.

I think it was tongue-in-cheek . . . and no insult was intended.

You’ve obviously not read this thread, in which some uilleannhooligan claims Pat Sky sells practice sets for $3000.

Stuart

i was not reading the referenced thread as it was not referenced. i am only responding to this thread, and i think it is in everyone’s best interest to not confuse the matter at hand and in any way insinuate any disparaging opinions about someone like pat sky… how often to you see such things about his good friend mr. o’flynn?..

just calling question to something that pat himself could see and take offense by.

now, back to the thread.

I wonder if we can make it a rule that no one get offended by proxy?

If Pat Sky were to get offended by a reference on this thread to an entire other thread which, in fact, defends his integrity, how about we let him get offended and take some kind of action.

I personally actually get offended by what I’m terming offense-by-proxy and I applaud bensdad’s use of sarcasm.

Stuart

You’ve got my vote. Although I know I’ve broken this rule myself in the past.

Always read the fine print.

I thought Pat had moved to Spruce Pine, NC.
