tricky ornaments...

Searching the archives yieled little in this regard, so I’ll start a new thread. I’m particularly interested in how folks w/keyless instruments tackle rolls (or cuts, etc) with the cross-fingered C-nat or middle D?

I’ve heard tonguing done well on the flute for the middle D, which sorta works for me (trying to develope my tonguing technique, actually), but I like to know the finger-method too since that’s my preference

Any other difficult/tricky notes to ornament are welcome too - what do you do?

Cheers,

I’ve never found a C nat roll option that I’ve lived so I try to find other musical ways to get around that issue. The middle d… I usually do a two fingered cran with a breath to start it so it sound like 3 notes… Sometimes I do a 3 fingered cran… You’ve really got to stay on top of your crans or they get sloppy… I try to incorporate them into my daily practice through excercises or tunes that I utilize them in…
