I took my 3 yr old to see treasure planet yesterday. It’s really delightful. Great animation and characters. They have a party scene at the end and there is a whistle playing. Very nice, but I couldn’t stay around to see who the player was.
This is from ~The Sinking of The Titanic Mystery Thread~ posted by Dale 20 years ago =). I’m not sure what page it’s on here but here you go, I think the guy you are looking for is Eric Rigler.

I completely forgot to post about this! Went to see it Sunday night with some friends. There is a definite Irish tint throughout the whole movie.
If you are interested in seeing the movie, I recommend reading Treasure Island either before or after - I read part of it several years ago and the beginning of the movie concurs with what I read, just a different setting. Interesting concept. One of the main characters in the movie is quite obviously Irish, and there was whistle playing throughout the movie (Ben was amused every time I perked up and whispered “I hear a whistle!!”) The end party scene has like a one-squid session going on, which was pretty funny. The concertina had eyes, I believe.
Oh, btw, I was watching that Taken series on scifi, and about halfway through and at the end there was a whistle playing. You know you’re getting into this when you are watching tv and you hear a whistle and you say to everyone watching with you: “hey, HEY, everybody!! It’s a whistle!!!”
Don’t feel bad… I do that all the time. There’s a comercial where an old lady is standing at the stearn of a ocean liner and she throws some big blue diamond into the ocean… well there’s a whistle playing in the background. There’s a few car commercials with whistles playing in the background…
The gods created whisky to keep the Irish from rulling the world, then gave us TinWhistles to keep us happy.
