Tony Dixon Alloy Body Low G

I’ve been offered one of these at a very good price, but as the seller is some distance away I’ll be buying it ‘blind’ so to speak, does anyone else have one and could you give me your impressions of it please?

I already have a Dixon one piece high D which is a sweet little whistle, I do struggle with hole spacing however as the D hole seems closer to the E than all my other high D’s, and I had the two part polymer low A which was really nice.

But never had or played an alloy bodied one.

I like mine. Thought it a bit breathy at first but when I listen to recordings it sounds breathy but pleasantly so. No problem with hole spacing as far as I’m concerned - I use pipers grip on right hand.

Thanks for that Blower (great username by the way) does it have reasonable volume, do you think it would carry well outdoors?

Reasonable volume, yes, and low B upwards would be ok outdoors I reckon (i.e. F# fingering on D whistle)
