Peter Browne featured a live recording of a 1964 benefit concert for Breathnach’s “Ceol” magazine on his program “The Rolling Wave” this week. This includes performances by Joe Ryan with Tommy Reck (starts around 19:30) and Willie Clancy (32:30).

Yes! It’s nice to hear Tommy Reck getting some radio air time, and I like Joe Ryan’s playing as well, so this was a treat for me.

I think listening to the singing on this broadcast of An Bonnán Buí is very instructive for those of us learning aires. Note how the meter of it is very fluid. That’s the stuff!
