NPU have put up the video of Tommy Reck playing at the 1989 Dutch Tiónal. Fine piping from Tommy on his Kenna. Tommy passed away two years later.

I was very fortunate to get a copy of that tape years ago - thanks Peter/Robert/Mark. Beautiful playing of the Coolin in the key of D. “Is my ten minutes up yet?” :smiley: I bought an analog video digitizer deal’em thingy last year and have been meaning to make computer files of stuff like this or the Paddy Keenan 1978 video - but NPU keeps doing the job anyway! Big thanks to them for the Source of course.

And while we’re at it there’s a whole other concert from Tommy in duet with Mick O’Brien at the Recitals - Henrietta St - 1989

  • along with Jim Brophy, Sean Seery, John Murphy, Seans Potts old and young, the former with Paddy Moloney, Tonies Linnane and MacMahon…quite the show.

A video of Tommy and Mick O’Brien on their first outing in Miltown 1989 is floating around somewhere as well.

That was also my first go at the WCSS piping concert, wedged between Paddy Keenan, John O’ Brien and Tommy and Mick, it was daunting.
