This is a political post

no…it isn’t really. It’s just that Nano hasn’t had to say “take it to the political forum” with political forum hyperlinked, in a few days or so. I miss it.

:smiling_imp:

You people confound me.

Consider yourself hyperlinked:

:stuck_out_tongue:

I didn’t realize you were so easily confounded, Nano. I find that…ummm…befuddling.

I’m not. There’s a special brain trust here or something.

Well there’s your problem. Never trust a brain.

Very funny Izz, very funny…

Oh yeah?? Well, hyperlink THIS!

That’s kinda cute in a bizarre way I don’t even understand… I like that one-but not for dinner.

I can never remember how to do a url like that. Mine always look so lame :stuck_out_tongue:

And emm…yeah..that was just weird

as was the rest of the site

Izz, this is not the only way, maybe not even the best or correct way, but this is (singing) my way:

1). Open the target web site in a new window or tab (depending on your browser). Highlite and copy the target URL with Ctrl+c.

2). The link tag in HTML consists of two parts: the open Anchor statement and the closing Anchor statement . Put the word you want to appear on screen in blue as the link between the two statements.

e.g. Emm’s word was “THIS”

THIS

3). Now, the open Anchor statement needs an address in it. This is where you will paste the target URL from the other site using Ctrl+v.

e.g.

4). If you want the target web site to appear in a separate browser tab or window like Denny does with his astronomy pictures, you can insert the TARGET option.

e.g.

5). So all together the command would look something like this:

THIS

but would appear on screen simply like THIS.

djm

That’s complicated. I just do it like this:

THIS is where you put the words you want blue

Same. And I’m very familiar with html. I you can use BBCode, why not?

You put the HREF with the HTML thingy HOW? And then you have to anchor it with a CTRL-v something or other…then CTRL-c then find some target…Deej…there is no way in heck that I (Miss Computer Challenged) will ever remember that :boggle: Maybe I should just keep to my lame-ola way. It’s just easier.

Emm, I don’t think BBcode lets you open a new tab/window (I could be wrong).

Izz, you can literally cut and paste the code I wrote and re-use it as needs be. Just replace the bits and pieces to suit your situation. What is there for you to figure out?

djm

Want to know how many times I’ve slammed my hand into the monitor trying to smash that bug? :imp:

My issue with the version is that it opens the link in the same tab (Firefox), whereas I have Firefox set to open the links in new tabs.

Lamby, isn’t it just the neatest thing?

Denny, that’s why I suggested the TARGET attribute.

djm

 thought I was 'sposed to read the whole thing, that’s not until #4.

I think that, for a BB, allowing the browser to decide is good. Now if I was attempting to drag a user in the correct direction that would be different!

Usually when I click a link from a BBcode it opens in a new browser, but the HTML coded links without the TARGET code stay in the same browser window.

Lets do an experiment…

Does this link pop a new browser for you?

EDIT::

It pops up a new browser window for me
