The Gael

Love the Gael, especially in the last battle scene of the Last of the Mohicans - Promontory. However, even though I have the sheet music, I’m realizing it’s really for fiddle and pipes. Ah yes, I fully plan to watch You Tube videos of Jenny O’Connor playing it, with or without sound!

Obviously, a multitrack recording, but done with whistles. I like it.

This is not my video, by the way.

Thank you for that; now I just need the notes for the other part. Actually sounded pretty stirring with just whistles, if not the deep stir of pipes and fiddle.

I heard Dougie MacLean originally only wrote the Gael to teach his students rolls on fiddle.

We play it at our session with an interesting key change which you can just about catch at the start of this clip, I’m not in this clip myself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bLMfAkBziA

LOL
I agree Jenny is always nice to watch!
