I’m having a go at learning the Ennis version (on the album of the same name). He begins with a double jig in D and then moves on to another type of jig in G. It’s a really nice jig with some great opportunities for popping!! 
Is this second jig a slip jig or a hop jig. Sounds to me like it is in 12/8.
