That baseball game of yours.

So did anybody win that North American Series thingy yet? :stuck_out_tongue:

(OK, I admit it. I’m feeling cold and thought a few flames might warm me up. )

This year doesn’t matter any more because the Yankees aren’t in it. But NEXT YEAR the Yankees will win it.

Susan

I find baseball to be extremely boring and stupid.

I watch figure skating sometimes, but generally, I’d rather not pay any attention at all to sports.

Talk about boring and stupid.

John- Don’t listen to this garbage. This person is a bitter and defeated fan living in the past

Nobody has won it yet. The Red Sox, (from the American League), are leading the Cardinals, (from the National League), 3 games to none. It is a best of seven series. There is a game tonight, so if the Red Sox win, that will be the end of it. If the Cardinals win, it continues.

The Red Sox have not won this Championship since 1918. They have been close a number of times, but have always come out on the losing end, sometimes in very “odd” circumstances- nothing sinister, just weird things.

In closing, GO RED SOX!

All the Best, Tom

You mean they’re still holding the World Series, even though the Giants aren’t in it? What’s the point? :smiling_imp:

Redwolf

Umm, see my earlier post regarding- bitter and defeated.

All the Best, Tom

Perhaps if the Red Sox win they can use their bonuses to get HAIR CUTS!

Signed,

Bitter, Defeated, and Living in the Past
(all three of us)

Yeah, but if they get haircuts they’ll probably all SHAVE their heads.

Don’t worry, I’m sure George is going to go out and spend even more $$ to get whomever is available. Sometimes, though, maybe he’s gotten great players that didn’t add up to a great team??

All the Best, Tom

Boy, get them into one series and they get all snippy.

No, this is the FIFTH in recent history if I have read the article correctly. Yes, there IS still time for them to come crashing down. The problem is baseball NEEDS the Red Sox (almost typed Red Sucks) to win this year.

Oh, did I just say that?

I’m sure she’s right, after Steinbrenner amasses a billion dollar payroll. Oh, yeah, he might also want to clone Bob Gibson (3 Series wins against the Sox in 1967).

That’s why I said sometimes.

P.S., Hi, sicko.

Nope, not being snippy. Heck, I’m not even convinced that the Red Sox will win the whole thing yet. History’s not on our side, ya know!

Tom

That incidentally is why it’s called the World Series, John.

Well, sure, I mean why not, the U.S. is the center of the universe and nobody else matters anyway, right?

If you think about it though, besides the U.S, we have the majority of the best players from Canada, Mexico, the Dominican, Cuba, Latin America, South America, Japan, Korea, Australia, (…and I’m probably leaving out some). If there are other great ones from these places that we don’t have yet, I’m sure they’ll figure out a way to get them.

So, it’s sort of like a World Series, eh blommie??? :smiling_imp:

All the Best, Tom

Sorry, but I don’t think I shall.

Best!

:frowning: (Insert heavy sigh). Slammed by Bloomfield once again. :sniffle:

Tom

Oh! Now you’re making me feel bad. I’m just yanking the national, um, American, ah… World… baseball-chain a bit. No slams intended.

Yea, verily, and forsooth.

I watch figure skating > sometimes> , but generally, I’d rather not pay any attention at all to sports.

I don’t like figure skating, because I feel so bad for the performers when they screw up–it’s just too obvious. We watched a lot of diving in this year’s Olympics. The errors are much more subtle.

I don’t seem to be able to get into team sports. I enjoyed playing when I was younger, but watching doesn’t do a thing for me.
