So…, I was rooting for the Sox this entire series. (Yankees have won enough games.)
It’s interesting. My dad (whose yo daddy!) was a long-time Angel Booster, when I was a kid, and we went to see the Angels loose, I mean play, all the time. We always had great seats, just a little left of home plate. But it wasn’t until the year that he died, that the Angels won the Series. Now go figure. He wouldn’t have believed it. I’m still wondering when the Angels changed from blue to red.

The curse is that they won’t WIN the World Series. They can GO, but they can’t win. Bill Buckner proved that in '86.
I’m just happy it’s not the Yankees!
Just what percentage of the world gets a chance at the World Series? 
Personally, I’m in deep mourning today. Been a Yankees fan for years.

Wow, Susan, I’m really sorry!!! Well, let me clarify that. I’m NOT sorry that the Yankees lost (YAY YAY YAY!!!)…I’m sorry that they didn’t lose LAST year! Honestly though, I know how you feel. I’ve been a BoSox fan since I was a wee one, and it was always disappointing to see them lose when they were so close so many times.
I’m still dancing around this morning…anyone know a good victory tune that I can play?
Yep, me too. I’m 50 years old, born and raised in Sturbridge, Mass. Been a Red Sox fan all my life. This is great joy in New England today.
Now, four more victories would be really sweet!

these 7 games were be best baseball series I’ve ever seen…I mean the sheer drama of it all… Schilling, Foulke, Lowe mowing them down and Damon’s redemption in game 7… games 4 and 5 !?! Coming back from 0-3 for the first time in baseball in Yankee stadium?!

Not to be a sore loser or anything, but do you think the Red Sox could chip in and invest in a hairdresser for the team? They’ve got, by far, the worst hair of any team in any sport, what with Johnny Damon’s caveman look, Arroyo with the cornrows, Ramirez with the whatever-he-calls-that-style - the one that sticks straight out of the side of his batting helmet, and Pedro Martinez who now looks like a tall Shirley Temple.
I’m teasing of course, but the baseball fans at my house certainly got a kick out of the chronic bad hair days of the Sox.

everyone is saying that Steinbrenner is gonna go crazy… I am axious to see what happens! Surely Torry won’t get fired, but you’d think something has to happen.
I reconnected with an old friend last night, Sister Eleanor, Daughters of Charity, who was on her way to root for the Red Sox via TV. She might have sent a prayer along, too. (Hmmm…she’s in the same building complex as the relics of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, but I’ve never heard whether Mother Seton was ever a baseball fan. Well, if she were, the Orioles might have done better this year.)
Anyway, I thought the Red Sox curse was broken when they beat the Yankees, to whom they “sold” Babe Ruth.
Sr. Eleanor grew up watching the Senators, so having a team return to DC is fun, but I’m not sure how often retired history teachers living in a religious community can afford to go to major league baseball games. Maybe I’ll drag her down to see the Frederick (Maryland) Keys next year.

The curse will linger until the Sox win the World Series. I’ve been in Boston all my life and while there is great satisfaction in beating the Yankees, especially in their building, most Bostonians consider that the curse stems from selling the Babe to NY after 1918 Series. The curse (which of course doesn’t exist) says no more championships for selling Ruth. We’re alomst there.
Most of us are aware that are 2 highly competions involving prominent Mass residents. So I’m wondering. If the Red Sox win the series on Halloween night, when do they hold the massive downtown parade. After the 2 recent Superbowl wins, the party has been the following Tuesday. In that case, it would be election day. Seems an odd choice. John Kerry and the world media will be camped out in Copley Sq. on Tue night. If Kerry wins, a World Series and White House party would be on Wednesday. If Kerry loses the World Series parade would probably still be wednesday, but would be very weird. Of course we may not know who will be President till Spring training. Maybe the curse lives no matter who wins. The next 12 days will be fun.
