Could we at least aspire to get this thread locked but in a nice way?

Hugs all around..

Ummm… I’ll pass.

But anyway, let’s try not to stray too far off topic in this thread.

Yes, I’m rather enjoying the preening right now.

But seriously, thanks for the kind words, Will.

What I’m here for. And thank you for being a moderator worthy of kind words.

This thread immediately reminded me of a similar situation.

My daughter sometimes works with light/sound or as stage crew for a local theater. One established tradition is for all the techs and backstage folks to stand behind the backstage curtain or sets, unseen by the audience, at the end of the show. While the actors are up front enjoying all the applause, the crew joins hands and takes one long, deep bow.

I can’t tell if you admins and moderators are taking your bow, but I sure hope so. Thanks for making C&F possible and keeping it all working.

Now, where did I put that saccharine? I know it’s around here someplace …

I’m beginning to get verklempt…

But, W Will is right - you all do a great job. Anyone that doubts that just needs to wander to ‘another place’ and observe what goes on there… It makes you thankful for what you have!

My point exactly. I have often joined a good forum only to have it deteriorate over time into irrelevancy. Or it is not moderated properly and falls prey to spam postings and jerks. I know it must be a tough job finding the right balance between chaos and a police state.

My best friend, also a social worker, has a saying, “Our best work will go completely unnoticed.” (It’s preventive.)

Think of it as being kinda like Singapore, only with nothing to eat.
