I just wanted to drop a line here thanking Dale and Rich for the work and atmosphere here. I have always enjoyed the humor and the way people generally try to help each other out! However, without going into details I want to mention a lil’ incident that I have delt with recently.
One of the “other” boards dealing with Irish music and playing I am no longer allowed to be a part of. That’s fine. This was the first board I was a part of for whistling and Irish Music, so that’s not a problem. I was kicked off and banned for life because the moderator felt that my response to his tyranical email to me was uncalled for I suppose. The heinous act that I committed by the way was accidentally posting the same question twice. This happend because (since I AM human) I didnt understand how to edit my original message, hence the 2nd posting. His email to me was to not “ever, ever, EVER do that again. Is that clear?”
Well, although it was admitedly poor taste I decided that any moderator that would send an email with that tone deserves to have another post posted on his bowl of cornflakes. I simply posted that he didnt have to worry about me posting accidentally twice ever, ever, EVER again. As a result I am banned for life.
Now, after this post here please tell me if I was out of line? If so, I gladly accept your opinions.
The point of this post: Thanks again for being resonable. Thanks for the interviews. Thanks for the warm suggestions. Thanks for the funny as all get-out comments! Thanks for a real sense of community for whistle players around the world.

Tradman I think your response would have been perfectly fine and probably even applauded on this board, but in the other board there’s a different King and you have to live by his laws.
I agree, though, this is a great community to be a part of!
By the way Tradman…Don’t you EVER post something here that isn’t either informative, fun, of possible value to someone, complete nonsense, or a mistake! Ever EVER!

I’d like to say thank you for posting this. Sometimes it’s good to be reminded that in spite of its downsides, this is overall a very friendly place and that Dale and Rich do a great job here.
Every time I’ve been disgusted enough to leave, something else has shown enough value to make me decide to stay.
“Everything in moderation including moderation.” I dunno who said it first, but it’s appropriate here. Dale and Rich do it well, and it helps that they have a great bunch of people to keep in line.
There are so many qualities that go into a good host: Sense of humor, Tolerance, Discretion, and (occassionally) Firmness. And Dale has it all. I’ve seen dictators in action and it’s not fun.

You know all, he didnt even bother to tell me about the incident. He just let me read it whenever I was on. Just doesnt matter what he tells me anymore.(sniffle sniffle). I have to just, just go out and find things out when he doesnt tell me. AHH! The agony!!
There was my lil spill. But for real, he didnt tell me about this, and I thought it was hilarious. And is true that this is a very nice “lil family on web” and I like posting here.
And dont think that I will be going anywhere… I’m stubborn like that.
