Appreciating you ...

I’ve been here almost two months, and I would have to say …

Even with the little spats, which are admittedly outside the rules of the board, this is nonetheless a remarkably good-natured and civil group.

I’ve been active for a couple of years on another board. The atmosphere and social dynamics here are strikingly more pleasant and considerate (and that other board is a really great group, too).

Best wishes, appreciating you all,
Jerry

(I posted this in another string, which is now locked, so I’m posting it again because I want to make sure it’s available for people to read.)

I agree. From what I’ve seen, this board is, for the most part, composed of courteous individuals, who are quick to help.

“This board is, for the most part, composed of courteous persons” …

And of persons who are, for the most part, courteous.

I’ll take the whole lot of you any day. Good souls, every one.

Best wishes,
Jerry

I agree! I’m very happy to have found this place. Not only a wealth of information but a great atmosphere and great folks too! Ya just can’t beat it.

I run a forum of similar size on a completely different topic and can tell you from first hand experience that this forum is very pleasant. You folks here are tops!!

I’m not a big forum person.. in fact, this is the first one I’ve ever joined, and the only one so far. I’m glad you posted this, because I’ve been wanting to express my apprecation as well. If I hadn’t found this forum, I would no doubt have dismissed the “Celtic” Sweetone I bought in a bookstore for 7 dollars as just a nice little toy. I wouldn’t have known all the possibilities it had to offer… the expression of beautiful airs, the cheeriness of jigs, the wide range of keys–and the money-eating disorder that is WhOA! I’ve only been here five months, but I feel my overall knowledge has expanded triple since then. If I hadn’t met all you inspiring folk, I’m positive I never would have known the joy the whistle and Irish music brings me now.
UP C&F! Thank you all!

(Edited because I can never seem to post without having to edit it… why part with tradition? )

Almost an identical experience as mine! Untill I discovered C&F I thought of my wife’s anniversary present (a Feadog, several years back,as nothing more than a “cute” little novelty… Man, was I ever wrong!!!

Feel the love, man…

That’s one of the good things I’ve noticed here. After a little altercation, things get nice nice. Maybe time for a little RUUUUUUMMMMMBBBBLLLLLEEEEE, perhaps?

Fate has a great way of getting things done. I hadn’t even wanted to go to the mall the day I found that little bookstore. Only went because my family was going to eat at the Cheesecake Factory afterwards, and I didn’t want to miss that.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, cheese cake…
I think it’s near time for a group hug!

And besides, this board is the home of the largest group of cutie-pies in the Northern Hemishpere!

Excuse me. Some cutie-pies here live in the Southern Hemisphere.

I’ll let it pass just this once without a tantrum. :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheesecake, whistles,
group hugs, I’m starting
to hyperventilate.

Easy does it, man! Grab a paper bag, put your head between your knees, and slowly breathe into the bag…

But those are some of the best things in life! Especially cheesecake…mmmm. I love whistling, but hey, it’s not edible.

Dito. Taken as a whole this is a great place.

I guess we’ll have to not hold that against you

I just love English indirection (but not as much as I love Ruddles County.) Just call me a cutie-pie and be done with it. And who was impressing Amar with her cutiepiety? Rowena wasn’t it … amongst others. :stuck_out_tongue:

Aye life be hard, but Ruddles stays smooth

Forgive me if I’m repeating myself.

I’ll take the lot of you. Good souls, all.

You’ve changed my life, and that of my children, as well, more than you can know, and I will be forever in your debt.

Jessie gave me my first whistle, and lots of great information and encouragement.

Ava wrote “Dallas Skies,” which has lit a fire in my 11 year old daughter, who has just begun learning flute in fourth grade.

Jim Stone has got me ruminating about the nature of life and joy, in a way that’s making my philosophical brain happier than it’s been in a very long time.

Bloo, MarkB, E = Fb, Ridseard, Gogo, StewySmoot, BrewerPaul, SteveK and many others who post here regularly have inspired me with their kindness and encouragement, not to mention wisdom and wonderful humor.

Y’all are a godsend. Every one of you.

Best wishes,
Jerry

Mom always said musicians are tempermental.

1/2 temper + 1/2 mental.
