tenor drone reed adjusting

helllo all,

just got me a second hand set of drones.

i am no reed expert even far from it…
the reeds are playing quite well except the tenor is getting me a perfect A…

i tried moving the bridle up and it sharpens the reed, when i get to D ±
i can play it by blowing the reed with my mouth but in the pipes it would be very hard to blow, it flattens much as well.. around B-C so i fined my self going back to that A that works and playing the drones A D D

maybe someone could point the way?

playing it in A

i dont have such cane around here and school is very very very demanding these days… so no time for experiments at the moment.

would chopping the reed do it :sunglasses: ?

Wow. Some people pay extra for an A drone.

If you’ve not got much time at present, just plug the end of the tenor drone with some poster putty or blutac and play away without it. I wouldn’t suggest chopping anything until you’re certain of what you’re doing.

Can you post some photos of your drones and their reeds?
