Southern Fried Whistling!

Yes, the Celts DO rule in South Carolina!

Hi to all y’all from a forum-newbie. I have been playing the whistle since the turn of the century and occasionally lurked on this forum for nearly as long.

After my first formal whistle instruction last summer at a super camp on Vancouver Island, I was inspired by the ingenuity of my instructor to attempt making my own whistles. (WHOA gets pretty expensive in the cash economy) Please have a listen to the first few posts on my website.

I am prompted to reveal my lurk-ed-ness in hopes of discovering other like-minded folks in the vicinity of Columbia, SC. Would really like to get together and make some music with other Celtic-minded Berserkers.

I can be coaxed into playing a little guitar besides the whistle. My daughter plays the fiddle, too. See, we already have half a band!

Hi to All Y’alls in Ladysmith BC and thereabouts. Have All Y’alls cleaned all y’allses whistles today? (If you understood that, take one step ahead of the hosers! You know who you are!)

Welcome!

We can always use another whistle player/smith around here. How about some more info? Pictures, prices, keys, hat size, beer preferance, etc.

Glad you joined.

Welcome.

The whistles have a lovely sound, imo, especially the ‘C’. Will you be posting photos or pricing info soon?

Welcome to a fellow whistlemaker! Ya need some pics of your sweet sounding whistles and sales info too.

Thanks for the welcomes and the kind comments!

My cart never gets behind the horse so it comes as no surprise that my website is way out ahead of my products.

Nothing ready for sale yet, just wanted to share my craft. Pictures will be forthcoming along with further design details for you technical types. And more sound files. Pricing will be “eventually”. Waiting for a few more details to manifest themselves…

Raises hand excitedly I’m in the vicinity of Columbia, SC! Yay! And I would absolutely love to make some music.

I’ve been playing music since I was born, but only picked up whistle in the last couple of years. I also play saxophone and bassoon, and I can pick my way around some chords on a piano, guitar, or ukulele. I have a few other talents, but those are a smidge personal.

I’ll send you a PM, and we’ll see what we can arrange.

Got one pic up of the whistles today on the website for those that asked.

Still looking for more players in the Columbia, SC area that would be interested in a very relaxed session.

“Congratulations” is in when we can tear him away from his bot!
