I might have found someone!

My roommate came back from class today, and told me his Music Appreciation teacher played “that instrument” today in class. After a bit of prying, I found out that he meant whistle (which he’d seen me pull out a few times). I made certain that he had seen a whistle, and not a recorder or some other not-as-cool instrument. I immediately asked him the professor’s name, and went to look up his e-mail address.

As it turns out, the Professor in question is the Chair of the Department of Music, and is a VERY accomplished performer on recorder. I am not disheartened, though, because my roommate has seen him play several recorders, and the instrument in question looked and sounded different.

So I’ve sent him an e-mail, and am awaiting his reply impatiently. Should be interesting, because I’ve not been able to find anyone in the area who even knows what a tinwhistle is. I’m really hoping he can point me at some sort of session or teacher in the area.

Errr… where are you?

Oh, woops. I’m in Charleston, SC. I’ve been looking for some people to play with for a while, but have had no luck. :sniffle:

We’ll see how this turns out, I suppose.

Congratulations

Well, if you want to come visit me, I’d be happy to play with you. I just don’t have a car, right now (college rules: no parking for freshmen). Send me a PM or something.
