I have recently moved from Utah and have never met another irish whistle player. Does anyone know of any other whistle players in or around the Santa Clarita Calif. area? I would be very interested in lessons or simply meeting someone who enjoys this music as much as I do.
I’m not in CA but this post gives me an idea. Dale, could you create a section of the board dedicated to helping people find musicians in their area? People could post by state, region, or city, and it wouldn’t fill up this board. I know I’d love to find some whistlers in my area as well.
If you go to the Memberslist (link at the top right of the page) you can sort by location. Could be a handy tool for finding other whistlers in your area.

Just moved FROM Utah???

We need all the whistlers we can GET!

If you can sort by location in the member list I couldn’t find it. There is a search function on the board, but location is not one of the options.

I think the problem is that not all users put their locations in the info.
I’m a lonely whistler!
I don’t know if someone here in the forum is kind of near Uruguay, but I don’t think so.
The guys who play here that i know are always too busy to even talk to me… they cannot teach me or play with me
Anybody from South America? Argentina, Brasil, Chile??
I want to play with someone!!!

Why doesn’t everyone who wants their location known, put it under their name in the posts? I’ve met several really cool people from this board who contacted me because they saw where I live. (Or maybe I contacted them.) I’ve been to Dave Parkhurst’s and John Palmer’s houses, if I can drop some names. And I’ve met a number of lurkers who never post. They were cool, too. (A bit shifty, maybe, but I don’t mind.)

Maybe you should check out http://www.celticartcenter.com. They’re not too far from you and they have sessions Monday nights, I think. Haven’t been there yet myself, but I’d bet you’d find some pals there.
