some flute measurements

Since there have been some requests for stretches, hole sizes, etc., I thought I’d post some. There are no bore measurements or anything; I assume that makers don’t mind posting of hole sizes, since any bonehead with a set of calipers (present company, e. g.) can make them. If any makers who read the forum think this might be inappropriate, please let me know, and I’ll delete the post or just include A and E holes and stretches. I know I’m a bonehead, because I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the board to recognize multiple spaces. So y’all’ll have to try pretty hard to read the table. rows are embouchure length (along flute axis), width (transverse to flute axis), then the hole sizes, going from embouchure away. Final two rows are the stretch from the top of LH1 to bottom of LH3, and same for the right hand. Flutes are an Olwell Rudall, Olwell Nicholson, Hammy, Thin Weasel (nominally a Rudall, but as Glenn said, the design rapidly diverged for reasons he can’t quite recall), and Bleazey Rudall. All dimensions in mm.

I should not speak for the craftsman, but I do not feel that enough dimensions are given to infringe on their work. However I wonder how useful it is to wannabe players If they have no idea what the width of the stick is, again the lack of dimensions.

Thank you for the work though, if it does help some one it will help more people than my pessimism ever would.

Oh, and I have one flute that I do not play much. The fingure streach on a fife is much more pleasant.
