finger stretch on calmont?

I am curious…never have played a flute but will start soon on a borrowed calmont I have not seen it yet :wink:
Can someone tell me whats the finger stretch (in millimeters if possible) for left and right hand so I can get a clue?
I have long fingers not very fat ones.

Berti,

Sadly I’m at the office and my Calmont is at home. If no-one else posts today, I can measure the spread tonight and post the details tomorrow.

I can tell you though that I have ‘average’ hands for a bloke, and that I don’t have any trouble fingering the flute. The tone holes are certainly smaller and closer-spaced than on, say, my Alba Low D whistle (which was a big stretch for me at first until I got used to it).

for the “Boehm-style” tapered head Irish flute that John makes:

Distance between tone holes:

B 35mm A 37mm G 49mm F~ 35mm E 35mm D

(heh, stupid keyboard won’t do a ‘sharp’ symbol!)

Approx hole diameters:

Embouchure 12mm
B 9mm
A 11mm
G 8mm
F~ 10mm
E 12mm
D 7.5mm

Bore diameter (of body) 25mm
