$240 with the optional Fred Rose case, worth over $30 alone (but I’d rather keep it than sell it alone), $220 without.
The original fleece pouch and display box are provided.
Well, I’m going sort of OT here, but it’s a good bump for ya anyway Zoob…
Speaking of Rose whistles: I sold one (Blackwood) to someone about a year ago… A guy who lived…maybe on the west coast? Not sure. If you’re out there and reading this - please send me a PM if you ever want sell that whistle, I’d be interested in buying it back someday.
You’re right, Bloomberg: I’d rather sell it in Euros…
Hey: € 240, but postage included! maybe I can even hop on a plane and deliver it personnally for the price difference
Now seriously? € 200. + postage…
Loren? I’ll PM you in a minit.
PS: to the others: don’t wait you guys for the elections and a dollar back in shape. Phat chance it would still be available…
Bloomenthal sure get touchy about his made-up moniker.
Top Ten things he doesn’t want to be called:
Bloomie (variant Bloomie-Pie)
Bloomberg Joannie Madden’s #1 Fan
Sophist like Stoner
…you guys finish the rest but the No 1 is: his actual name…I mean, how can a celebrity like him “keep it real” if we all know he’s a whistling blowhard just like us proles?
Was that Bloomfield in those Finster-Glints waitin for his limo on 5th Avenue? International Man of Mystery!
What, did I give away something??? Mein Gott in Himmel! He’s the legendary Fifth member of ABBA!!! You all didn’t know??
We don’t hear too much out here about how the new Mayor is doing. Giuliani is probably a hard act to follow. I just wonder if crime and filth will increase and I will have missed what seemed to be a great opportunity to visit the Big Apple.

Yeah, and if you bought an Abell blackwood D from someone in Louisville, KY who originally purchased it from me (it’s got a stain of some kind on the silver part where the tuning slide joins the head and body). I’d be interested in buying it back someday too.
FWIW, I’ve had one of Fred Rose’s D whistles since last July, and it’s the sweetest sounding whistle I own. Beautiful tone for aires!
It’s also a very low maintenance whistle for one made out of blackwood. He sent a note along with it saying I shouldn’t ever have to oil it. After 8 months and a good amount of playing, I haven’t had to oil it and it still looks and sounds as good as the day I got it.
It rarely clogs, & has low breath requirements. I’ve had no complaints about this one.
Since everyone has their own preferences for whistles, there are a couple of clips on http://www.tinwhistletunes.com if you’ve never heard one of these played.
I was seriously debating buying it but went with a Busman instead.
Sorry, Zub.
By the way, you’ve probably answered this somewhere but what’s the little emblem in the lower right-hand corner of the picture? It looks cool.
The emblem is both my trade signature and copyright date as a photographer. It’s inspired by the wooden stamps used by Chinese calligraphers and painters. I really appreciate you like it, and express it. Btw, you’re the first to ask.
PS: it seems the Rose found a home, but I never skin bears before the Czech is in the male… Today, as you did, I also debated with myself (Hi, Paul, this is Zoob; Zoob, this is Paul, etc.) to see if we’d let this whistle go after all. Only fair: after all these years he has a word to say.
Then I socced him with a nasty jab: he just can’t calmly argue.
Issue is: we may be schizophrenic, but I’m personally very strong; wishy/washy yin/yang ok, but Zub’s quite Zen after all.
I know I’ll miss it–the Rose not that socced sucker; I also know I don’t need it, nor deserve it. I think my cat will miss it, too, when I practice this 2-octaves+ tunes…
