Sold: Overton high D (non-tunable)

Whistle has been sold.

I’ve got an Overton non-tunable, high D whistle for sale. It was made in 2000, but I’m not sure if it was made by Colin or Bernard since the only part of the inside inscription that’s still legible is the year. It is stamped “OVERTON” on the bottom but my crappy cell phone camera couldn’t capture this.

This whistle is practically indestructible, so naturally it is in fine condition and plays very well. Be warned: This whistle requires A LOT of air and isn’t for everyone. If you like to really push your whistles and have no problem generating hurricane-force winds to reach high Bs and Cs, you’ll love playing this. You can get a great volume out of it, though, and the strong tone cuts through nicely in sessions.

I don’t have a sound sample, but I live in Milwaukee if anyone wants to try it in person.

Asking price is $175 (through Paypal only) plus reasonably-priced shipping from USPS. Send me a PM through this site if you’re interested.

Banana is shown for scale and not included!

If it is stamped “Overton” on the bottom, Colin made it. And, since Bernie just died, the price of that instrument just doubled. I wouldn’t be too quick to sell, my friend.

I have a Bernard Overton made non tunable high D, but that’s also stamped Overton on the bottom…
You can recognize a whistle made by Colin if it’s engraved inside the tube at the bottom end, but I don’t know if he did that already in 2000
