The bag on my pipes tends to slide around when I’m playing. This is akward when playing regs.
Any devices to prevent a pipers bag from sliding down whilst playing?

Velvet bag cover.
You should also add a shoulder strap, this attaches to the drone stock and keeps it from sagging.
hello, I also have trouble with the bag slipping and want to put a shoulder strap on. Could anyone tell me exactly where to fasten it? I’m not sure I want to attach anything to the actual bag, will probably puncture it or something! Thanks.

Depending on your drone attachment to the bag, you might want to tie the strap there.
dear ben,
if you have a slippery, saggy bag then try washing more often.
Allan I tried that but my bag is so huge that it won’t fit in the sink!
That’s what bath-tubs are for. (Or as some of us would wish to think, swimming pools. Or if you’re really sick - full immersion baptismal fonts.
) If velvet is hard to come by for a bag cover, try making one out of corduroy. It’s cheap and usually in the remnants bin at a cloth shop.

Corduroy is a good suggestion and many highland pipers (guilty as charged) sew grips onto the bag covers. The grips are patches made of the stuff you put under rugs and table cloths to keep them from sliding around. I’ve never seen the strap before… good idea.

Another good grippy bit is a piece of the rubbery stuff they sell to keep silverware from sliding about. It looks like a loose weave cloth with foam rubber slubs. You can find them in a dollar store coloured in black, green or dark blue. It can be cut easily and glued or sewn to the side of the bag cover. Cheap and easy! I don’t know if they have an equivalent to dollar stores in the U.K. or not.
