Hi,
There is a whistle player on Sinead’s CD entitled, “Faith And Courage”. A friend gave me a copy of this CD some years ago but I have no information on the Artists.
Can someone on the board please assist me if possible.
Thank you very much.

According to the album credits, the low whistle is played by Kieran Kiely, who was also an accordion and whistle player with Shane McGowan and the Popes.

Cheers!
Thanks to you both.
The link was helpful.
Yes, he’s quite talented. Played with some of the best.
P.S. If you have not heard this guy play you must check out his whistling! He’s quite good. I am very impressed with his style. Very sleek! He’s quite good on “Faith And Courage”.
Sincerely
Ahh yes…the Popes.
Has anyone seen the recent documentary in Shane McGowan? Any good?
How recent? I’ve got one made in 2001 called “If I Should Fall From Grace: The Shane MacGowan Story”. I enjoyed it, there was quite a lot of good footage as well as interviews with Pogues members and other musicians whom he crossed paths with (such as Nick Cave). It also has a video of that gawd awful rendition of “What A Wonderful World” that MacGowan and Cave did together.
One of my all time favourite CD’s is one of Sineads called sean nos nua
she is an awesome singer with a heartfelt sympathy for her musical influence. The whistleplaying on this cd isnt to shabby either the credits go to Keiran kiely and rob o geibheannaigh,
On her famous version of I’ll tell me Ma, can anyone tell me the tune break name or if it was made especially for the tune
Regards
