As a background, we regularly poll all the shared drives in the organization looking for large files. Most turn out to be simple pr0n and get deleted. MP3 files however, all seem to get dropped into one directory so that we in IT get to enjoy the music before we delete it from the shared drives.
Ok, all legality issues aside (and they are plentiful) this give us a very large collection of songs. Last time I checked the size, it was over 100 gig of music. This music comes from, well…everywhere, so we get some odd combinations.
Playing the random shuffle game on this drive sometimes comes up with some wonderfully bizarre back-to-back song combos. Yesterday I ran into one of the oddest.

followed by… It’s Raining Men
This leads me to ask…what’s the oddest back to back combo of songs YOU can come up with?
I don’t know if this is exactly the same as what you’re describing but it was weird to hear. I had my iTunes on shuffle while painting once and the song “Aisling” as performed by Christy Moore came on and immediately following (not even kidding) was “Aisling” as performed by Shane MacGowan. Now, anyone who’s heard the two knows how vastly different they are… they both wrote the lyrics but took it in completely different directions musically.
Funny… I don’t recall ever hearing this, but just last night, this lyric was part of one of the questions on a show I hardly ever watch - “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”

No, I have seen the original video to this, and what I meant was that it may have been popular within a limited segment of the market, but I did not intend to specify any particular one segement; simply that it was not popular enough across multiple market segments for a wide audience to be familiar with it (I don’t consider either the dance segment or the gay segment to be particularly large).
The weirdest I can find on my shuffle is Micho Russell’s Amazing Grace/St. Anne’s Reel/Sporting Nellie followed by I Want You (She’s So Heavy) off of Abbey Road.
