**Sept. Great Rocky Mountain Sessions info**

The bag cover is easily do-able. What I’M wondering, is can we make a kilt with pockets in it for whistles? Perhaps in each of the pleats?!

Hey Beth, do you mean you want to get together in Salt Lake City? I volunteer my new house with gorgeous big back yard, if that’s the case!! Let me know.

I dont make Kilts (except on rare occasions for myself) Perhaps something like a Whistle carrying sporran might be doable… My Pipe bag shaped case is a pretty standard thing now. There is no telling what sort of mad seamster items I will bring along.. I am looking at that avatar and thinking of something that can be carrier about, and then mounted onto the Mountain bike somehow as well..

Quite possible Cees! I hear there is a session monday night in town somewhere but I think I’d rather play tunes with friends, and show the meager collection of developed photos I’ve gotten so far!

Thanks for the invite! Brian, Sara, Susan, what say ye?

Somebody just let me know when and where…

Less than a week to go! Any more chiffers planning to stop by GJ, Denver, Lander or Salt Lake over the weekend???

B~

All are welcome and I am quite flexible, but Joan would like to have some idea of who and when.

Mack

I’d like to drop by Friday night to listen. Let me know the times.

As it stands now, I still have to work on Friday. Won’t even be able to leave Provo till at least 3:30 in the PM. I may have to drive back up to SLC then to rescue my car, or perhaps see about a way to get Ben and Beth down to where I’m at without their car.

At any rate, if we left Provo at 3:30ish, that would put us into GJ at roughly 7:00 pm I’d guess.

So Mack and Joan, three weary but WAAAAAAAAY too excited travellers should be gracing your doorstap in the mid-evening hours. We’ll give you a call when we’re heading out to solidify the exact time a bit further OK?

joy!

Perhaps, depending on what time we get into SLC, one of the other chiffers could give us a lift down to Provo in exchange for a few hours of tunes?

Seven seems a good time to officially get started, even though things will already be happening most of the day.

Well, no one else has said one way or the other, so I’ll say…Cees, I would love to come see your new house, play some tunes, and tell you about Ireland and London! Can you email me some directions, for coming from the north?

Brian, Sara, Susan, hope to see you there!

Hey Beth,
Glad I got on the Board finally today and saw this! I will email you some directions in the morning. Remind me again what the date will be for this? I’m tired and forgetful right now. Do you have a car, or…? How are you arriving here?

Looking forward to seeing you, and I’m dying to hear all about your trip!!

It’s a Beth and Ben sighting! :astonished:

Last spotted leaving the Casa de Sunnywindo at 1:53 PM Mountain Standard Time, heading south towards Brian’s place. Concertina tunes enjoyed by all, including Mallie the Super Mutt. (I’m just going to say she sings along Beth, it’s as good a explaination as any.)

Mack, sorry I’m going to be missing out finally meeting you and seeing the Hoover whistle shop, and all the fun music and good company this weekend. I had planned on going, but plans had to be changed. I really do have a good reason for missing out this time… Beth is free to explain while she’s there if she wants.

But I do hope to see folks at the local Monday night gathering.
So have a safe trip!

Still Whistlin,
:stuck_out_tongue: Sara

They came , they played, they earned their french toast which is almost ready.
Gotta go now, talk later.

Mack

We had a great time at my place, but way too short.

Look out Tom!

There are some pictures and a sound bite on the RMP page:

What can I say. That was the first session I’ve been too. It was great. Thanks Mack, Beth, Brian and Rand. And thanks to Jaon.

 The Rest of the story.. or at least the likely suited tale.

Way into the late hours when things were wrapping up. Beth says “remember when we drove through downtown.. there was that quaint looking pub with the 1890’s theme mural.. And that smell of beer wafting out of the place like the beer has never been cleaned off the floor ever” .. Ben says “hmm yeah, I’m not too sure about that place, plus I drove all the way here…” Brian says “heck yeah, we could go in there and play a few Tunes, just like a session in the old country, lets go”

I told them it might not be their kind of place.. “You noticed the 1890’s Mural right..”… ‘yeah, so?’ says Beth. “Its well after 8:00pm…” ‘Uh yeah its like midnight, so?’ .. "the policy at Quincey’s is ‘Straight till 8’ " …Brian says ‘ohhhh… so the chances of there being a Purple pool table are better than average??’ “Yep, thats exactly the kind of establishment it is” ‘That settles it!! I dont half fancy a Purple Bag cover.. we can play long enough to distract the clientel while Rodger relieves the Pool table of its covering..’

**Disclaimer.. nobody in their right mind would actually obscond the covering from a table at Quincey’s. Many of GJ’s finest hang out there.
