Se mo Laoch TV documentaries

A bit of crossposting through the relevant forums:

I just received a letter from Sibeal in Dingle who have produced a series of documentaries for TG4 about a number of musicians. The following will be featured on the dates below in the Se mo Laoch series Sunday nights at 10 pm with a repeat the following Tuesday at 8 pm:

8-10 Kitty Hayes (which will include Brid O Donohue, Claire Keville, Dympna O Sullivan, myself and others. It was filmed at Kitty’s home, at my place and the Crosses of Annagh. A lovely film well worth seeing)

15-10 Roger Sherlock
22-10 Sarah Ann ONeill
29-10 Con Curtin
5-11 Paddy Moloney
12-11 Eoini and Danny Mhaidhi O Suilleabhain

TG4 programmes can be watched through TG4 Webtv.

The reminder alarm just went off on my mobile. Looking forward to seein ya on da telly

Very good Peter. I just wish I could understand the Irish. I wish I had been able to see this kind of music on my trip to Ireland. I very much enjoyed Kitty’s singing as well as her playing. It was good to see some faces we hear about here on C&F including your own. Your love of the music is very obvious.

Ron

Thanks Ron.

I am told the repeat on tuesday may have the subtitles.

meanwhile TG4 archived the program, it can be watched here

Wonderful program.

Yep! That was time well spent today.

When I visit the URL, it starts to work but then redirects me to this week’s schedule instead. Darn. I can watch stuff on YouTube though - Maybe you could upload the archive there.

Click on Ceol-Cartlann. That will get you there.

Ron

Thanks for posting this Peter.

It’s heartenning to hear Kitty’s story in her own words.

And great to see and hear you and Brid playing too.

Best regards

Mitch

That didn’t work for me yesterday, but it did when I tried it again today. Unfortunately it only worked for about the first half. Right after Peter started talking about taking photographs, it redirected me again to the schedule.

I guess they caught me late this time. :stuck_out_tongue: But seriously, it would be nice if these videos could be archived somewhere more reliable. Then everyone can watch.
