RTE 1 - Cherish the Ladies (not the group)

Currently on RTE1, the last of a series called Cherish the Ladies. This episode focuses on Josephine Marsh and Kitty Hayes.

That programme went out two weeks ago didn’t it? The woman who did that, Aoife ni Cormaic, is a nice fiddleplayer herself, she did another programme on Kitty last year.

Just back from Feakle where we finished the Galaconcert as ‘the Kitty Hayes Band’ which was basically half the Josephine Marsh Band (Mick Kinsella and Maurice Coyle) and Kitty and myself. Thoroughly enjoyed that, still a bit hyper from that (it’s midnight now and we’re just back in the door).

Makes sense. The program airs on a Tuesday I think, would be put on the link later that week, and last another week or so. Which means it will probably only be available for another few days.

Glad you had a good time, Peter. I’ve been hearing advertisements for it and knew it would be fun.

You were eavesdropping on the Clare FM so were you? TG4 filmed the concert so it will be televised later on. The film on Kitty will go out early october but I’ll give a shout about that when the time is there, that’s really a lovely job.

Gotta catch the music where you can, Peter!

Musically I’ve not only hit the wall, I seem to be embedded in it. So I stopped playing as much, given up the sessions here entirely, and gone back to compulsive listening. Clare FM, RTE1, Live Ireland (eh), my own collection…

TG4 is the same that gave us the award ceremony which ended in Jackie Daly’s award, yes? Is there a website?

I’m utterly hooked on TG4’s webTV service.

This seems like a good time to bump the main thread on Kitty and Peter’s album, which I have at last been listening to and enjoying.

I seem to be congenitally incapable of using the Search facility to any good effect. Is there a good cyberfairy lurking here that could oblige?
