samples of the pure drop

I thought it would be a good idea if we compiled a set of links where people who are just starting out can take a listen to some clips of older recordings of Irish music for free. So to start the ball rolling:

http://www.sligofiddler.com/tracks.htm
http://tedmcgraw.com/recimages/Irish_clips.htm
http://www.lafferty.ca/music/irish/flute-geezers/
http://www.irishfiddle.com/legends.html

Anymore, guys and gals?

that’s a great idea! but they’re very hard to find. thanks a million eldarion
maybe this is not so pure, but i did my best http://www.dempseys-lot.co.uk/mp3-samples.htm

Here’s one with videos:

Note - this is not Comhaltas students.

I just listened to the Dempsey link above, I would not call that older
playing. It has a modern syncopation at the beginning, and a modern
sound. Fun but not pure drop.

I put these onto an ‘other sites’ link page on Clips and Snips. You can access it from the left hand column on the news page or index page.

The punter slamming down his pint and head banging to the tune was so funny.
