MP3s

I want to start a thread of MP3 Irish music links. We all (or should know) about the clipsandsnips.com site which has TONS of whistle music, but I want to start a thread of favorite free MP3 Irish music links.

This has become my favorite in the past month, and I dont know why.

Slip jigs - “Wigsborough hunt”, “The Irish jig”, and “Jack in the green”

which in all fairness to the artists is part of
http://www.h-p-t.com/tunes.htm

I think this is a great idea. Here are some other sites:

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/herve.gourdet/dwalin/repertoire.htm
http://www.uptospeed.net/hoi/
http://www.lafferty.ca/music/irish/flute-geezers

These are music clip filesfrom the musicians CDs:

If these sites are posting legal mp3’s (not infringing on copyrights, or whatever), I’ll put permanent links on the Clips site. I haven’t seen the sites. Are they kosher? (I don’t want a hassle from RIAA or whatever it’s called.)

You can browse by Genre → Celtic

As far as I can tell all of the sites are legit offerings by the musicians themselves. Whether or not they are affiliated with the RIAA, I dont know.

I do know a 12 year old honor student we can offer up as a scapegoat, for legal purposes only.

I went ahead and collected all the links and put them on a link page, so you don’t have to do a “search” here. If the RIAA contacts me, I’ll tell them to do a search of this board to find the real culprits. That’ll throw 'em. :smiling_imp: In advance: I deny everything.
Tony

Thanks, Tony, for keeping us away from the dreaded SEARCH function!

In the future, should one send links to you directly?

Here is is a link to C&F’er David Armstrongs site which features drones and Bodrhan backgrounds. I found this from surfing from another thread. Thanks all involved, esp David.

Any musician who actively and knowingly downloads another person’s copyrighted work should be hanged.

Pardon me for asking but is that comment somehow relevant to the thread? As far as I can see, each of the above links is with the permission of the musicians…

Are my comments ever relevant?

That, my friend, is a topic unto itself.

Do you really need an answer?
