In case you haven’t heard yet, D. Bell the Chieftains harpist/tiompan/keyboardist passed away last week. Sad news. He was a nice man.

Yea…Johnny Connolly and Aidan Brennan stopped by the other day, just back from their tour, and played a few tunes in Derek’s memory and told us about it. Johnny has played with the Chieftains recently on stage in Ireland.
Can you imagine all the music that’s being played at his DB’s Wake?
And can you imagine what Derek would be like if he get’s to that Nether-Nether land above, hears the universal drone, and decides to lay down his harp and take up the pipes?
If he keeps the harp up there, he could teach the angels a thing or two. By the way, I’ve been trying to find out where Martin Fay has been. He wasn’t at their concert in January and I forgot to ask if he had retired. I havn’t seen him in any of the recent photos. I hope he’s okay. Any news?
